MINGEI INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM and MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART SAN DIEGO - Collaborated with local museums and their contracted architecture firms to manage and promote the reopening of two major museums after extensive fundraising and renovation projects were completed. Secured local and national coverage in art, design and architecture outlets and managed successful press previews and ribbon cutting events for both projects.
The New Children's Museum - Produced and promoted a major community open house to celebrate the grand opening of a new destination in downtown San Diego. The event, which garnered unprecedented media attention, was attended by more than 5,000 people and included performances, a kid’s parade, and remarks by VIP and elected officials.
LEAD San Diego - Developed and implemented a comprehensive communication plan to reach key stakeholders with timely information about partnering with and supporting this leadership development organization.
BRAVO San Diego - Developed all media and marketing materials for
California's largest gathering of performing arts under one roof. Promoted the inaugural event and
continued to secure unprecedented coverage throughout the first five years of this celebration of Arts
and Business collaborations. The Event featured more than 600 performers on 50 stages located throughout
a downtown hotel.
Performing Arts Awareness Campaign - Launched a one-of-a-kind awareness
campaign to promote all of San Diego's music, theatre and dance companies (unforgettable branding in the
spirit of "Got Milk" or "It's the Cheese"). Received over $500,000 annually in donated and pro bono support.
The MUSIC DANCE THEATRE LIFE campaign was recognized in local and national trade magazines and is now used
as a model for arts service organizations nationwide.
ARTS TIX Online - Expanded the successful concept of a downtown half-price
ticket booth by launching San Diego's first online ticket service, to meed the changing buying patterns of San
Diego audiences. Developed and created interactive online buying, media partnerships and internet marketing
campaigns.
ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station - Branding and Marketing a Destination- Created branding, messaging public relations and marketing?materials for ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station, San Diego's arts and culture destination in Point Loma. Developed a comprehensive integrated public relations and communications plan for the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the venue.
U.S. Chess Championship - Managed and oversaw all media and marketing for the
annual, high-profile national competition. Secured unprecedented publicity for the nonprofit partners,
America's Federation for Chess and the NTC foundation. Garnered outstanding local, national and internet
coverage about the grand opening of a new destination and the value of chess in the classroom.
Fine Arts Sampler Weekend - Created and developed an annual Free Arts
Weekend for the City of Cincinnati that is now in its 11th year. Collaborated with a major sponsor to launch
an annual fund drive that raised over $7 million. Coordinated and promoted the event from its initial year and
developed it into a community-wide festival featuring 75 events in 40 locations throughout the city.
